To take the GACE English to Speakers of Other Languages (Test I) exam, you must present an original, government-issued, valid (non-expired) identification that has your photograph, full name, and signature. Make sure to bring the ID with you on the day of the test to the testing center. For most test-takers, a valid driver’s license or United States Passport is a valid ID.

To pass the GACE English to Speakers of Other Languages (Test I) exam, you must first understand what is on the exam and what you will be expected to know. Once you identify areas of weakness, you can begin targeting those areas with instructional content and practice questions.
The full test takes 2 hours, but expect to be at the testing site longer. Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before your appointment time to get checked in.
Since there are different versions of each test and each version has different questions, there is no way to predict the exact number of correct answers you need to pass any given exam.
