The Praxis® Multiple Subjects 5001 test is a long exam that covers the four core subjects. Check the table below for the approximate number of selected-response questions for each subtest. Each subtest has a separate time limit, and once one section is finished you cannot go back to it.

What kinds of questions are on the Multiple Subjects 5001?

Most of the questions on the Multiple Subjects 5001 test are selected-response. Many of them have one correct answer; however, sometimes the question will ask you to select all that apply, so read carefully! On the math portion, there are some numerical-response questions that you’ll type a number into a box to answer. You will have an on-screen calculator for the math and science portions.

There are no essay questions on the Multiple Subjects 5001. Every question will have multiple answer choices with the exception of a few math problems. On those questions, you will type in a numerical answer.
