Taking the CSET: Physical Education exams can be a daunting task. Because its goal is to test your classroom readiness across the spectrum of content, it covers a lot of ground. This breadth can make it hard to know how to prepare. Luckily, if you understand how the test is organized and what it is testing, you will have no problem prepping for this test. In order to cover everything, the exam is broken into 3 subtests covering 7 different domains.

You will have 5 hours to complete all 3 of the exams.

CSET: Physical Education What to Expect

The CSET: Physical Education exams consist of 3 subtests: Subtest 1 (129), subtest II (130), and subtest III (131).

  • Subtest I: 40 multiple-choice questions and 2 constructed-response questions
  • Subtest II: 40 multiple-choice questions and 2 constructed-response questions
  • Subtest III: 40 multiple-choice questions and 1 constructed-response question

For subtests I and II, you will have 1 hour and 45 minutes to complete each exam.  For subtest III, you have 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete the exam. The tests are administered via computer.

You may register to take any one subtest or all three subtests in a single test session.
