You have 5 attempts at the exam in order to pass. You are required to wait 30 days between test attempts. If you are not able to pass the exam after 5 attempts, you must apply and receive a TEA test-limit waiver before being allowed to retake the exam again.

To pass the TExES Social Studies 7-12 (232) test, you must first understand what is on the exam and what you will be expected to know. The best way is to review the 240Tutoring test breakdown materials and practice questions. Do I get a break during the TExES Social Studies 7-12 (232) test?

Break policies can vary between exams. In order to take a break you must leave the testing room. Raise your hand to indicate that you want to take a break. You will need to show identification to reenter the testing room. You can learn more about the break policy here.

How long will the TExES Social Studies 7-12 test take me?

The full test itself takes 5 hours, but expect to be at the testing site longer. It takes time to get checked in and get started. Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before your appointment time.

What can I expect when I arrive at the testing site to take the TExES SS (232 )test?

When you get to the testing site, expect to have your identification checked, your photo taken, your palm scanned, your eyeglasses checked, and to place your belongings in a secure storage space. You will be given an erasable notepad and pen. Before starting the test, you’ll have to complete a short tutorial and sign an agreement.

Is the TExES Social Studies 7-12 (232) test hard?

According to the Texas Educator Certification Program Summary, passing rates for the Social Studies 7-12 exam were 45% in 2016-2017.
